This prestigious project, located adjacent to Barbican in the City of London, provided a new site for the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. The building houses three new performance spaces: a concert hall (650 seats), a theatre (200 seats) and a studio theatre (80 seats) in addition to drama teaching and administration spaces. A residential tower is sited above the new theatre structure, with high quality apartments situated between level 06 and the roof at level 37.

From Level 7 to roof the floor slabs are post-tensioned construction with in-situ concrete columns and walls

The school and concert hall building comprises a steel-framed structure above the basement slab with "floating floors", plus to the North and West a reinforced concrete structure between basement and Level 6.

The theatre comprises a reinforced concrete structure from basement to Level 6. From Level 7 to roof the floor slabs are post-tensioned construction with in-situ concrete columns and walls. The tower structure is stabilised by the reinforced concrete core from basement to roof which contains lifts and a staircase.
