National Skills Academy for Construction

Byrne Group is entering its third year of being part of the National Skills Academy for Construction, a CITB initiative designed to encourage main contractors to engage in an innovative and collaborative way with the supply chain to deliver training and up-skilling opportunities.

Byrne Group has seen great success during the first two years of the Skills Academy, over-achieving on targets and achieving 100% in audits. A large proportion of the targets were met at Sea Containers House which has hosted site tours, work experience placements, BIM training and an NVQ open day, during which 150 operatives signed up to enrol on a free NVQ level 2, amongst other initiatives/events.

The National Skills Academy has also provided a platform from which to build relationships with colleges and universities, offering construction and engineering student's opportunities to visit our working sites at Furnival House and Bedfordbury.
