Berkeley Homes selected Byrne Bros. to execute the Construction of a 257m long by 20.7m wide reinforced concrete box for the future Royal Arsenal Woolwich Crossrail station, in conjunction with the reinforced concrete substructure and superstructure for the residential development adjacent to the station. The project included heavily reinforced deep concrete sections for the base and roof slab of the station box, and the podium transfer superstructure.

The station box was constructed to a demanding programme, to facilitate the arrival of the Crossrail tunnel boring machines which broke through the box end wall in April 2013.

The project included heavily reinforced deep concrete sections for the base and roof slab of the station box, and the podium transfer superstructure

The project incorporated 5 slipforms and a complicated basement propping scheme.
