Stepney Green & Limmo Shafts

This Crossrail contract was delivered with Dragados Sisk at 4 locations to construct access shafts to the new Crossrail Tunnels. Each of those schemes was as follows.

Stepney Green
Reinforced concrete slabs and walls within an access shaft to the tunnel.
First stage concrete in the tunnels.

Canary Wharf Station
First stage concrete in the station poured by stage pumping over a distance of 450m.
Pumping concrete for paving contractor through station.

Limmo Shaft
Slipform within 35m diameter shaft.
Secondary linings in 2 x 90m long tunnels, 6.4m diameter, 43m deep tunnels using 10m long travelling shutter on rails. 
5000m3 mass fill in base of shaft and 2500m3 in auxilliary shaft.
Precast slab and beams installation.
Reinforced concrete beams and slabs within core - maximum weight of beams 40 tonnes, maximum storey height 21m.

Bloomfield Box/ Farringdon
Pumping concrete from surface to tunnels for the paving contractor.
