We have successfully completed the extension of the Tate Modern.
This project is an iconic Hertzog & de Meuron designed extension to the original Tate Modern. The Project is a 76m high, 11 storey structure resembling an eroded "ziggurat" (a rectangular stepped tower in ancient Mesopotamia). It has been visualised as 'an honest building in its tectonic state.'
It was built on the land to the rear of the existing gallery and provides a 23,400 square metres of mixed-use space and incorporates a large section of the existing Tate Modern gallery.
