Double sustainability award win

Two Byrne Bros. projects have been named winners of two sustainability awards.

The 2011 Concrete Society Awards chose The Bulgari Hotel and Residences project the sustainability award winner, with the judges noted a saving of more than 1000 tonnes of CO2 production achieved - approximately 35% of total CO2 generated from the whole concrete structure. The incorporation of geothermal diaphragm perimeter walls, one of the first applications in the UK, also showcased the design and build achievement in sustainability excellence.

Earlier this year CEEQUAL - The Assessment and Awards Scheme for Improving Sustainability in Civil Engineering & the Public Realm - also named Byrne Bros. London 2012 Olympic Media Hub car park the awards project winner achieving a 93.3% score.
