A group of American students recently visited The Shard London Bridge as part of their summer exchange programme with Brighton University.
The 25 students from California Polytechnic began their visit with a presentation about the award-winning engineering, hosted by Byrne Bros. Project Director, Don Houston and his team, before splitting into groups to take a tour of the triple-height basement and the spectacular core, which is now visible from the majority of central London.
California Polytechnic is one of the leading US colleges offering a Construction Management degree. It?s philosophy is ?learn by doing? hence the importance it places on arranging visits to high-profile projects in the UK.
Byrne Group Health, Safety and Environment Director Michelle Tilley commented: ?We work with several charitable and educational institutions and are committed to helping young people realise their potential.?
