Byrne Bros. completes ‘The Peninsula London’ Superstructure

Situated in the heart of Belgravia and overlooking Buckingham Palace Gardens, ‘The Peninsula London’ is a new luxury 5 star hotel comprising 190 rooms and 28 apartments.

The Byrne Bros. team completed the 11-floor superstructure, thus giving access to the critical follow on activities. Façade works, M&E services and hotel guest room fit out are now all well underway.

The structure was built using a ‘Top Down’ construction technique, this meant the excavation and construction of the basement progressed in tandem with the superstructure build.

The venture required careful logistical planning from our team to service the 16,000 m3 of concrete and 2000t of reinforcement needed to complete the upper frame. We are currently excavating to the basement B5 level, at which point we will commence constructing the hotels swimming pool, ballroom and spa enclosures.
