SCOPE OF WORK

St Botolphs will provide a office building headquarters, situated on an 1.25 acre island site on the eastern side of the City of London. The scheme, designed by internationally renowned architects Grimshaw, will be a 14-storey landmark office building with circa 560,000 sq ft accommodation, including retail space.

The scheme will provide highly versatile flexible floor plates and will be finished to shell and core specification. The development has project funding in place and is under construction, with completion scheduled for the summer of 2010. Structural demolition of two existing office structures was followed by pile enabling and attendance works.

150 tonnes of temporary works propping was installed to allow for the excavation of the new basement which entailed a dig of 69,250m³ of material. Construction of the project consists of two floors of concrete substructure, four slipform cores and 14 floors of steel frame and concrete topping slab. Works are due to complete in autumn 2009.
