SCOPE OF WORK

SouthGate Bath is not an enclosed shopping centre of the past. It's a modern shopping destination, with classic Georgian-style open streets and public spaces. It's located within the city of Bath, next to Bath Spa Railway Station and the new bus station. It also has a new 860 space car park.

The work involved the construction of an underground car park for SouthGate Shopping Centre. The car park provides three parking levels and service yard. The structure comprised a piled raft within a secant-piled cofferdam, with an internal perimeter, reinforced concrete, lining wall and two suspended RC slabs.

The ground level slab is a substantial transfer slab (up to 1,200 mm deep) forming the lowest retail level and malls, and the support structure for four upper level retail and residential buildings.
