SCOPE OF WORK

Byrne Bros. joint demolition of existing works and construction of a reinforced concrete piled substructure and cores for a 20-storey new office development was completed near Moorgate, in the City of London. Structural demolition of an existing deep basement was carried out to allow for piling works and the new basement formation.

400 tonnes of temporary works propping were designed and installed along with a bulk excavation of 50,100m³ of material. The three tier basement was constructed within a secantpile cofferdam and the ground-level slab provided the support for the superstructure, which comprised a structural steel frame with composite, metal-deck and concrete floors.
