Planning in an Airport

Planning

Byrne project teams have considerable experience of working in sensitive aviation environments. Whether operating landside or airside there are strict protocols that must be adhered to in order to protect a safe and secure operating environment.

Construction at airports requires careful planning, a talent for communication and passion to perform. Byrne Group has all these attributes and more. We use cutting edge processes and tools to assist in achieving the best possible plan. It is vital that the client’s team is integral to the scoping, detailing, approval and feedback loop of any plan.

We use collaborative process mapping as an initial tool to clarify the scope and sequence for a particular element of work. The correct stakeholders at the correct level are key to this process and therefore Client, contractor and relevant supply chain would be involved.

Several refinements of the process map may be required, each time utilising the most appropriate medium to communicate the process cycle. At Byrne Group we make extensive use of 3D modelling and photo montage to help communicate the plan.

In the airport environment, this visual medium proves invaluable when more remote stakeholders, such as handling agents and tenants, who have limited experience of reading traditional plans and drawings, need to be informed of forth coming changes to operational areas.

Our process and tools also assist the client and/or the appointed project manager to demonstrate the project management controls to external bodies governing the airport.
