SCOPE OF WORK
The One New Change project is a prestige mixed retail and commercial development situated in the heart of London opposite St Paul’s Cathedral. The footprint of the development is 10,000m², of which three floors will be retail space, leaving the remaining five floors for office use. The building incorporates four intricate slipformed cores and has a central atrium radiating out to New Change thus facilitating excellent views of the Western façade of St Pauls. The project has a 3 level basement that is constructed using ‘top down’ methodology. It is founded on large diameter bore piles containing steel plunge columns. The building is comprised generally of structural steelwork columns monolithically connected to the concrete in-situ floor plates up to the 2nd floor. From the 3rd floor to the roof, construction is concrete on metal decking. The building occupies virtually all the 10,000m² footprint and thus requires extensive coordination with other trades to ensure efficient usage of craneage and storage space which is minimal. A just-in-time policy for deliveries has been essential for successful delivery of the project. |
