SCOPE OF WORK
The Leicester shires redevelopment was a series of RC frames within a congested site completed within an exacting programme. Featured buildings included a new four-storey John Lewis department store and an extension to the car park levels across a new central mall. The latter aspect included a four metre deep 30m long transfer structure to take the new car park access across the 12m high mall and involved the use of innovative falsework and rebar fixing techniques. The reinforced concrete package was completed on time by Byrne Bros in June 2007 and the completed centre opened to the public as planned in September 2008.
