SCOPE OF WORK
Heron Tower at 110 Bishopsgate is a skyscraper currently under construction in the centre of London's main financial district. When completed it will become the tallest building in the United Kingdom by pinnacle height, overtaking One Canada Square, which has held the title since 1991. Heron Tower basements are built using top down construction, where the ground floor slab is constructed before the basement slabs. This method enables the tower and basements to be constructed above and below ground level at the same time. Excavating below ground floor is achieved through a moling hole left in the ground floor and basement slabs. The basement slabs are supported through 15m deep pilecap shafts constructed prior to the ground floor. The tower consists of two basement slabs, a ground floor slab and 46 floors above ground level.
